Dark Tide Launch Day!

It’s the early hours of the morning here, so technically this was yesterday, but don’t confuse me. I’m easily confused at this time of night when I’ve had three strong coffees.

Today was the publication day for Dark Tide in the US and Canada!

Dark Tide

To celebrate, I got to talk to Ian Graham Leask at KFAI Write On! Radio in Minneapolis. I was ridiculously nervous before I called in to the studio, not helped by being both tired and strung out on caffeine to try and compensate. I didn’t yawn and although I did get my words muddled up a few times hopefully I didn’t sound like a complete no-hoper. Ian’s good to talk to, though. It’s like chatting with a good mate and easy to forget that lots of people are listening in.

(Note to self: a nap in the afternoon might have been an idea.)

#JWKOMAY

I spent most of today reading an utterly brilliant book. One of the big perks of this writing lark is that *whispers* people send you free books to read. This is great! And every once in a while it becomes awesome when you get to read one that you know is going to be a massive hit. Today’s book was that. It’s called ‘Just What Kind of Mother Are You?’ (#JWKOMAY) by Paula Daly, and let me tell you this is my book of the year, without question. I started reading late last night and thought I would just start it off… two hours and a third of the book later, I forced myself to stop. This morning I got all my jobs done first so that I knew I would be able to sit down and concentrate on the book. You know what I mean? It was *that* kind of book…

I have another five or six books just sitting here waiting for me to read! Which one to go for next?

  1. I ordered my copy of Dark Tide from Amazon, should arrive Friday. I can’t wait to start reading it. I read Into the Darkest Corner and I loved it, I couldn’t put it down and I actually became a part of the book. I look forward to reading Human Remains in August when it’s scheduled to arrive here in the US. Keep up the good work!
